Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner Diane Koken has announced the appointments of Joe DiMemmo as deputy insurance commissioner for the Office of Liquidations, Rehabilitations and Special Funds, and George Hoover as deputy insurance commissioner for the Office of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and the adultBasic insurance program.
DiMemmo served as the department’s Director of Liquidations and Rehabilitations since 1991. He directed strategies for the takeover and management of several multi-billion dollar companies over the last several years.
Before joining the insurance department, Hoover served as the director of the Division of Health Services in the Department of Public Welfare. He directed strategies to improve access to health care coverage for low and limited-income individuals and families across government programs by working to reduce barriers, streamline enrollment policies and procedures and develop innovative methods to increase program access to the federally and state- funded Medicaid, CHIP and adultBasic Programs.
Both deputy positions recently became vacant due to retirements.
