let’s face it – there are bad driver everywhere! That is why auto insurance is sort of a crap shoot. I have been in sales for 25 yrs and have to say overall driving habits generally have gotten worse. On speed – recall going to 65mph? predictions of 75mph. they were wrong – its 80+!

HEY IJ YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THAT THE “DEEP DISCOUNTS” OF ON LINE INSURANCE ARENT WHAT THEY ARE CRACKED UP TO BE, PROGRESSIVE JUST ANOUNCED A 5% RATE HIKE.
HAS THE IJ BEEN BOUGHT BY PGR,THIS ARTICAL CERTAINLY SEEMED LIKE A PICH FOR PGR, YOU DO KNOW THAT MOST OF YOUR READERS ARE IA’S.
Mark, my man, relax. Take off the caps and re-read the article. All it mentions is that big name insurers are now entering the market and are offering the LURE of deep discounts. Pitch is spelled with a ‘T’ by the way. Perhaps decaf in the morning is a better choice?
For real though, MA drivers are horrible! No wonder their premiums were so high. I live in NY and I thought we were bad until I went to school in MA for 5 years. I now order the states of worst drivers as MA #1, NJ #2, NY #3.
thank you for the spelling tip, you wont be at all surprised to hear that im on my second cup of coffee. I agree though we are pretty bad here, i also have to agree with your ranking of worst drivers, im in NY pretty often and i actually feel safer driving in midtown than i do downtown boston.
Haha, no surprise about the coffee. I went to school in Worcester and feared for my life half the time I drove. Boston was a whole other story. At one point I almost refused to drive in that city, not only because the roads are more confusing than just about anything I’ve ever encountered, but also because I was just shocked at the things drivers did. I don’t like to drive in NYC much either, but definitely feel much better about it than Boston.
I also lived in MA for a while and loved every bit of it except driving. I’ll never forget the first time I was driving on the highway in rush hour traffic. My buddy told me to get into the “breakdown lane” (aka the shoulder of the road), which apparently becomes a legal lane of travel during rush hour. I gripped the steering wheel so tightly that my wrists were sore for days afterwards. Small wonder that Mass drivers are called “Massh0les.”
Why doesn’t IJ finish the story about how much Junior save when he went on to mull his options. I think if you finished the story everyone was quoting similar prices. Very misleading, and i am not really sure why it was inserted in the article?
I was actually going to list PA as 4th on this list! Every time I see one of these drivers on the highway, they are always doing about 20 mph more than anyone else. But I would also maybe tie CT with 4th, as I think these people are thinking about anything other than driving when their on the road.
And jdoe, don’t worry, this Yankee fan is happy to be out of MA. Everytime I drive by that stupid sign in Boston that says “Massachusetts, you’re more likely to live here” I burst out in laughter.

Good– our plan to keep Yankees fans out of our fair city has worked!

I believe that PA should rank 4th in line of states with the worst drivers..
Guilty! now I live in PA!
Well, I would’ve made CT the 4th state, but I live in CT, so my driving stats brought the number of bad drivers down….LOL!!

Yea, the article ended with him calling back his agent and saying, “hmm yea Ill take that after all.”
And I nominate Toronto as having bad drivers.
