USI Insurance Services, an insurance brokerage and financial service firm in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., has completed its acquisition of Bluff Head Enterprises in Rhode Island.
Bluff Head Enterprises is a Wakefield, Rhode Island, based employee benefit consulting and brokerage firm specializing in middle-market businesses. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Samuel Slade, who has been serving as president of Bluff Head Enterprises, will now become president of the employee benefits division of USI of Rhode Island. Patrick Canavan, Michael Micgiel and other professionals from Bluff Head Enterprises will also stay on following the merger.
USI Insurance Services said the acquisition strengthens its position as an insurance brokerage firm in Rhode Island. USI said it has been rapidly expanding its employee benefit practice in the Ocean State.
USI Insurance has been making a number of acquisitions in recent months. Last month, it acquired Reston, Va.-based employee benefits brokerage firm Barros International. In September, it bought all assets of First Place Insurance Agency of Youngstown, Ohio. Also in September, it purchased de la Parte & Associates, a Tampa, Florida, employee benefits and insurance consulting firm.
