Bermuda-based White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd. announced that Tom Kemp has retired as a Director of the Company effective March 31, 2004.
Chairman George Gillespie stated: “Tom Kemp, our friend and long-time associate, has been a steady and thoughtful contributor to the Company’s success for 15 years. He was a key player in repositioning the Company after the sale of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in 1991. However, in light of the new regulatory requirements for independent directors, Tom has decided to step down from our board.”
Jack Byrne commented: “Tom and I have worked together for almost 30 years. He has been a treasured associate and we are truly grateful for his boundless loyalty and dedication.”
