Bermuda-based Montpelier Re Holdings Ltd.’s Chairman, President & CEO, Anthony Taylor, has been named “Outstanding Achiever of the Year” at the 2004 Insurance Day Awards, held on Dec. 1 in London.
Jon Guy, Editor-in-Chief of the London-based trade journal ‘Insurance Day‘, stated: “Anthony has impressed our judges and the market with his skilled leadership of a focused post September 11th property catastrophe start-up reinsurance company that rapidly established itself as a significant quality alternative and delivered quick returns to investors. He has earned the distinction of ‘Outstanding Achiever of the Year’ for his outstanding contributions to the global industry from both London and Bermuda, forthright furtherance of quality underwriting, and commitment to meeting investor expectations.”
Taylor responded: “I am very honored that ‘Insurance Day’ has chosen to distinguish me in this way. I have been involved in insurance and reinsurance for almost forty years, the last three of which at Montpelier have been the most challenging and exciting of my career. I feel that this award reflects the commitment and excellence of all my team, whom I am privileged to lead.”
The Insurance Day Awards are chosen from entries from around the world and are adjudicated by a distinguished judging panel, including the CEO of the Benfield Group, Grahame Chilton, and the Chief Executive of the International Underwriting Association, Marie-Louise Rossi. Miller, an independent, international specialist insurance and reinsurance broker, sponsored the award category.
