Zurich Financial Services Group announced the appointment of Peter J. Wright (56, British citizen) to the position of Group Head of Human Resources, effective February 21, 2011.
He succeeds Peter Goerke, who left Zurich in January 2011. Wright will be responsible for leading the global HR function, reporting to Christian Orator, Chief Administrative Officer. He will be located in Zurich.
Wright joins Zurich from AIG in New York, where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Worldwide Life and Retirement Services.
Previously he has held executive positions in HR for global organizations, such as BP, Estee Lauder, Merrill Lynch Mercury Asset Management, Korn/Ferry International and Unilever. He holds a master’s degree in history from St. John’s College, Cambridge University.
