Longhurst Named Broking & Distribution Director for Towergate London Markets

Towergate Insurance has appointed Paul Longhurst as Broking and Distribution director of Towergate London Markets.

Longhurst joins Towergate from Bluefin, where he has been London market broking director for 25 years.

Longhurst ran the SBJ London market broking team until their acquisition by Venture Preference Ltd (Bluefin). He was then appointed to run their new London market team, which he successfully integrated and grew, substantially increasing the amount of premium placed into London, said Towergate in a statement. He specializes in UK liability broking.

“We recognize the huge opportunity that exists in the London wholesale market, to build on the presence we already have and to expand upon our capability,” commented Towergate Group CEO David Ross.

“Paul is a much admired placement specialist, bringing with him the proven ability to connect people and businesses,” he said. “He will be the crucial link between a growing London market proposition and our retail business, where we know we can be smarter about maximizing income generation.”
