Michigan-Based Pioneer State Mutual Signs Deal to Aid Agents

November 14, 2001

Pioneer State Mutual Insurance Co., a Michigan property and casualty insurer, has signed a licensing agreement for Allenbrook’s VIC(c) (Visual Internet Connection) software. VIC will provide agents with a secure Web interface to the Allenbrook Phoenix® policy management system at Pioneer State Mutual. Agents will be able to quickly and simply enter client data, obtain quotes, issue new auto and homeowners’ policies, and make mid-term adjustments to existing policies directly from an agency management system.

Kathy McClain, Pioneer State Mutual assistant director of information systems, commented that the company’s agents need quick and convenient access to their client policy data. McClain said with VIC, Pioneer State Mutual can give its agents the ability to view, in real time, their clients’ policy, claims, and billing data online, enabling them to provide a higher level of customer service.

After an agent logs onto VIC, selects a transaction type, and enters the requested data, the VIC/Phoenix system completes the transaction, providing all necessary documentation, applications, and billing materials, and flagging incomplete items for further review. VIC automatically transmits the transaction information to the agency management system, eliminating duplicate data entry.

Allenbrook is working closely with Pioneer State Mutual to implement the VIC software and provide training. After implementation, Pioneer State Mutual will be able to use the VIC Control Center to easily make changes to the Internet user interface, ensuring the software meets future Pioneer State Mutual business challenges.
