Missouri-based Duck Creek Technologies, Inc., a provider of product management software and services to the insurance industry, announced that RLI Corp. of Peoria, Ill. has implemented its “Example Platform Product Suite (Example AuthorT, Example ServerT).”
Duck Creek said the new program will provide “web-enabled front-end rating, underwriting and fully integrated policy management services for multiple RLI lines of business, including: commercial multi-peril, general liability and DIC (Difference In Conditions).”
“RLI utilizes an internally developed quote and policy management front-end that is integrated with Duck Creek’s rating software and RLI’s back-office policy management system,” the announcement continued.
The program has been “In full life-cycle production since September,” said the bulletin, and went on to note that “RLI agents doing Hospitality business now have easy Web-access to underwriting, rating, and pricing with statistical coding being generated automatically for the WINS back-end. Tight integration between all components enables seamless straight-through processing and results in the policy issuance being sent back to the agent immediately.”
Piyush Singh, CPCU, RLI’s VP of Information Technology, explained that the company had “a good back-end statistical coding system, but lacked an easy-to-use web-enabled front-end for commercial lines that integrated with a powerful rating engine.” RLI’s search to provide the needed capability led them to choose Duck Creek’s software.
It was “the only solution we found that had been designed and built from the ground up for the Web. It has great capabilities for commercial lines rating algorithms and is easy to use. And, the support of XML and style sheets enables the level of integration that we need, Singh continued.” He also said that the company plans to expand its use of the platform to other areas in the future.
