Kansas Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger said the 2003 storm season in Kansas produced more than $256 million in losses of insured property and crops during April through July.
“The storm season extended well beyond spring this year—and we’ve exceeded the amount of damage reported in all of 2002,” said Praeger. “In July, the estimate of insured property loss for the state was $41 million.”
