Chicago-based insurer CNA Financial Corp. named Henry Pippins Jr. as senior vice president of its Small Business for Standard Lines unit, an $800 million business operation. Pippins previously served as vice president of CNA’s Small Business Underwriting and Product Development. Prior to joining CNA, he spent 20 years at The Hartford Financial Services Group, last serving as the small business officer for the Midwest region.
Pippins is committed to renewing relationships with the company’s independent agency partners through expanded product offerings, profitable targeted opportunities, and enhanced underwriting service levels, CNA said in a statement. Among his strategic initiatives to continue to grow the operation, Pippins will focus on its dedicated unit for small business programs, launching a revitalized package policy, and further strengthening the focus on profitability in underwriting.
Earlier this year, CNA reaffirmed its commitment to agents in small business through products and services focused on Main Street businesses. The CNA Small Business cache of offerings includes: CNA Central, the transaction-based Web site that enables agents to quote and issue offerings online; the Sales & Service Center that services small business accounts on behalf of agents; and its Small Business Program unit that develops and supports partnerships with agents in profitable program segments.
