Peoria, Ill.-based insurer RLI announced that it has hired John E. Robison as its new treasurer and has named current treasurer Aaron H. Jacoby as vice president of corporate development. RLI Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Joe Dondanville said that these moves strengthen RLI’s cash and investment management expertise as well as the company’s ability to pursue new business opportunities.
Robison will report to Dondanville. Robison’s responsibilities will include overseeing the corporation’s $1.4 billion investment portfolio, analyzing asset allocation, and selecting, managing and evaluating RLI’s external investment managers. He will also run the company’s cash management activities.
Robison most recently served as director of investments for National Interstate Insurance of Richfield, Ohio. Prior to that position, he was an investment portfolio manager for the Westfield Companies. Jacoby’s new position will retain responsibility for investor relations, capital management as well as mergers and acquisitions.
