Chicago-based brokerage Hub International Ltd. announced that William M. Tormey has been named practice leader for all U.S.-based personal lines insurance.
In this new position, Tormey will be responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the U.S. personal lines product line which includes home, auto, motorcycle, RV, watercraft and umbrella insurance. Tormey will work with each regional hub to ensure personal lines best practices and operational efficiencies are utilized.
Most recently, Tormey was a senior vice president responsible for managing a national practice group and Washington operations at Talbot Financial Corp., a $100 million insurance brokerage acquired by Hub International on July 1, 2004. Tormey will report to Bruce D. Guthart, chief operating officer at Hub International, and he will also continue to have management responsibilities in the regional northwest hub.
Tormey has over 20 years of insurance industry experience through a variety of marketing and sales leadership roles. He has served on the executive committee for Young Life in the Seattle area as well as a board member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of King County.
