ProCentury Adds 2 Corporate Staffers

Columbus, Ohio-based excess and surplus lines carrier ProCentury Corp. announced the addition of Steve Martindale as vice president of corporate governance and Scott Murray as director of investor relations. ProCentury is the parent company of Century Surety Co., which specializes in insuring small to mid-sized businesses.

Martindale, a CPA since 1988, has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry as a chief financial regulator, big-four audit manager and financial reporting manager. Most recently, he served as chief financial analyst for the Ohio Department of Insurance, where he was instrumental in implementing the department’s risk-based surveillance process. Prior to his four years of service at the department, Steve also worked for Nationwide Insurance, KPMG LLP, and Motorists Mutual Insurance Co.

As vice president of corporate governance, Martindale will be responsible for facilitating the continued development of ProCentury’s corporate governance function, including compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.

Scott Murray brings more than 15 years of investment experience to the position of director of investor relations. Prior to joining ProCentury, Murray spent five years at Banc One Investment Advisors as a senior equity analyst covering the insurance industry. In addition, Murray was employed as a research analyst with Banc of America Capital Management.

As director of investment relations, Scott’s responsibilities will include coordinating the company’s communication with investors. He will also report to Hamm.
