Congratulations, finally the long
awaited secret of Mr. Buffett\’s most
generous humanitarian gifts are being
revealed to the public. Not only has
he instilled in his children the
values of giving back, he had done
the same with some of his earliest
investors in Berkshire. When I
studied philanthropic gifting at
DePaul University in Chicago we
discussed a husband and wife who
were professors, having no children
they left their shares of Berkshire
to their university. That generous
gift ended up being many millions of
dollars to support their school.
Mr. Buffett had stated then that
this situation was only the beginning
of many more gifts to follow this
lead. Much success in having your
wishes to help the world
accomplished during your lifetime
so that you may enjoy the satisfaction
n in knowing how you really could
change the world.
For all the complaints made over the years about capitalism and the \”evils\” about the free-market, this stands as a silent testimony to the many benefits brought about by hard-work and ingenuity. Mr Buffet, as a small fish swimming down stream, I have great admiration for your contribution to the \”Great River\” known as our economic system and to the United States of America.
In the final analysis, the only true purpose of great wealth is to do \”Great Things\”. I am proud that an insurance industry billionaire has devoted his furtune to doing \”Great Things\”.
Those who reflexively damn the rich need to take a good look at Mr. Buffett.
As much as I hate Microsoft & its monopoly on our computer systems, Bill\’s Foundation has also donated huge sums of money for the good of mankind.
I may not agree with all the organizations that get money from either this fund or Buffett\’s but it much better there than in the pockets of the men who made it.
While I think it is a wonderful thing to give to Charity and share your wealth with others less fortunate. BUT… why not give to a charity that needs a wealthy contributor instead of one run by another one of the most powerful and richest men in America? there are a good deal of charities that are keeping people alive that are in desperate need of money. Just a thought.
Great thought by Sam, I agree. I think its because they still want control over \”their money.\” Therefore, it goes to help in very grey areas where no one really knows what its being spent on, or even if its spent at all. The FORD foundation started off great so many years ago, but now is controlled by some very evil misguided people. There will no doubt be some influence by the secret societies in the Gates foundation as the years go by.
To CLASSICAL PHILOSOPHER: if the rich were all like Buffet, there would be no reason to damn them. However, most are greedy, selfish and worthy of the damning. Not only do they live grotesquely with their yachts and planes, etc. but they close plants in the USA that are making them profits and send those jobs elsewhere so they can make even more! On the backs of children in countries without labor laws! And, they get tax incentives to do it! Corporate welfare is a disgusting practice that needs to END NOW. I wish there were more people like Mr. Buffet who understand that he was given certain GIFTS that not everyone is so lucky to have been given and that it is that person’s obligation to give back to the remainder of society. Not everyone’s gifts are paid as handsomely.

Golf claps for both Buffett and Gates!
Buffet & Gates are eal \”progressives\”. Let\’s see what Peter Lewis does with his immense wealth.

Could you please send me an address or e-mail address, where I could write to Peter and Jennifer Buffet?
Thak you,
Maureen
