Minnesota-based Western National Insurance Group has been named to the 2006 Ward’s 50 group of top performing property/casualty companies in the United States. The designation recognizes Western National for achieving outstanding financial results in the areas of safety, consistency and performance over a five year period (2001 – 2005). This is the second consecutive year that the company has been named to the list of top performers, according to the company’s written statement.
The Ward Group, a management consulting firm specializing in the insurance industry, annually reviews the financial performance of over 3,000 Property/Casualty insurance companies, selecting the top 50 performers referred to as ” Ward’s 50 Benchmark Group” for the year.

Western National Assurance Company (with offices in Seattle, Washington) currently offers insurance products in the states of Washington and Oregon. Farmer’s Home Mutual Insurance Company and Western Home Insurance Company are also based in Edina, and write personal lines in Minnesota, Washington, Nevada and Utah. All of the companies distribute their insurance products solely via the independent agency system.
