Carmel, Ind.-based Conseco, Inc. has announced that W. Mark Johnson has joined the company as senior vice president and chief compliance officer.
In this role, Johnson will direct compliance functions at all Conseco locations, overseeing activities at Conseco Insurance Group, Bankers Life and Casualty Company, and Colonial Penn Life Insurance Company. His responsibilities include compliance training; distribution monitoring and enforcement; company licensing; HIPAA, GLB and state privacy regulations; market conduct audits and state examinations; and review of certain sales/advertising materials.
Johnson joins Conseco from GE Employers Reassurance Corp., where he served as chief compliance officer for three years and as chief counsel during his last year with the company. Johnson also worked for five years with Swiss Re (formerly known as Lincoln Re) in various compliance and strategic project roles, and at Anthem BCBS as a director of operations.
