Global specialty insurer Torus Insurance has appointed Dennis Johnson and Mark Mowinski as vice presidents and senior property underwriters, responsible for underwriting in the Midwestern U.S.
They will both report to Steve Fomchenko, Torus’ global head of General Property Underwriting. McArthur, Johnson and Mowinski will be based in Torus’ new Chicago office, the opening of which continues Torus’ U.S. expansion following the opening of a Houston office in early July.
Johnson joins Torus from AIG where he was AVP, regional property manager for Central United States. He has also worked for SCOR, AON and Industrial Risk Insurers during his 30 year career.
Mowinski was also formerly an underwriter at Lexington and SCOR, where he began his insurance career back in 1988. He has also worked for Everest Re and CNA Insurance.
Torus provides property, casualty and specialty insurance as well as reinsurance products to a global client base through its U.K., U.S. and Bermuda-based insurance subsidiaries. Areas of expertise include complex property, energy, power, utility and construction as well as other highly engineered risk classes.
