Companies in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and three other Indiana cities have been honored for their efforts to eliminate job-related accidents and illnesses.
Indiana Commissioner of Labor Lori Torres presented Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards on Wednesday to Weigand Construction Co. and Essex Group’s Chemical Processing unit, both in Fort Wayne.
Roche Diagnostics and Eli Lilly and Co.’s Pharmaceutical Research and Development department, both in Indianapolis, also were honored.
OFS Brands’ Plant 6 in Huntingburg, Superior Construction Co. in Gary and the Indianapolis Roofers Safety Group in Zionsville also received the honors from the state Department of Labor, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and a chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
