Strategic Insurance Agency Alliance (SIAA) announced that six new independent agencies in the Midwest have joined the alliance. They are among 21 new members that SIAA signed in April.
Of April’s signed members, 18 are liberated “captive agents” new to the independent agency system – bringing new premium dollars and new people into the system. SIAA helped create more than 290 new agencies in 2010 from a total of 420 newly signed members; 113 have been announced in 2011 to date.
The new SIAA agencies from the Midwest are:
- Viking Insurance Agency Inc. of Edina, Minn.
- Champion Insurance Inc. of Grand Island, Neb.
- Stephen Kesner Insurance Inc. of Lima, Ohio
- Commercial Solutions Insurance LLC of Bellevue, Neb.
- Breakwater Group LLC of Byron Center, Mich.
- Michael Koch Insurance Agency Inc. of Libertyville, Ill.
SIAA members wrote more than $300 million in new business premiums in 2010 and are projected to exceed that volume for 2011, the group said. The new business premium for 2010 was up more than 27 percent from 2009’s figure of $235 million.
Since it’s inception in 1995, SIAA has signed more than 3,700 new members.
