Willis North America, a unit of Willis Group Holdings, the global insurance broker with operations in Chicago, has appointed William “Bill” Monat as senior placement specialist, transactional solutions products, in its national mergers and acquisitions unit.
The Willis National Mergers & Acquisitions Practice (M&A) works with more than 350 different alternative asset funds around the world and supports the network of Willis customers involved in a merger or acquisition,
Monat will lead the practice’s efforts to deliver transactional, insurance solutions focused on risks resulting from a merger or acquisition for both financial and strategic buyers and sellers. He will be responsible for building a broader awareness of the M&A practice brand and scaling the business in the area of transactional solution products.
Monat, who resides in Clarendon Hills, Ill., will report to Mark Rusas, executive vice president, Mergers & Acquisitions National Practice leader.
Monat comes to Willis with more than 24 years of experience in this sector, 12 of which he spent in the insurance industry and the other 12 in law. He has held leadership roles at Equity Risk Partners, Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker LLP and Aon Corp.
