Let’s see…. $3M in revenue from event…$1.7M in medicals for one injured biker (doesn’t include disability, lost productivity, etc etc).
Looks like that revenue would be negated pretty quickly by a couple of injured bikers. It would have been interesting if they included a comparison of biker medical costs of IA & NE. Paid either by insurance, government or the medical provider, which all are ultimately the insurance-buyer, taxpayer, or other medical consumers (me!). I think it’s perfectly reasonable to require helmets, the same as requiring seat belts, air bags, etc.
