Minnesota Sees Spike in Motorcycle Deaths, Injuries

June 9, 2014

The number of motorcycle fatalities and injuries have spiked in Minnesota.

The Department of Public Safety says five people on motorcycles were killed last week and 28 others have been injured.

The Star Tribune says four of the five riders killed were not wearing a helmet, a piece of safety equipment recommended by law enforcement, but not required in Minnesota.

Eleven motorcyclists have died in Minnesota this year, including two in the Twin Cities last week.
