BELFOR, an international fire and water damage repair company, announced it had recently taken over Inrecon LLC (INsurance RECONstruction), the leading company for the repair of fire and water damage in buildings and technical installations in the North American market. When repairing fire and water damages or — like in Seattle — damages caused by earthquakes, BELFOR cooperates closely with international insurance companies. The U.S. and Canada account for some 40 percent of all properties insured worldwide.
BELFOR entered the U.S. market in 1999. It has since acquired several medium-sized repair companies, which now operate under the umbrella of BELFOR USA.
According to BELFOR, the takeover of Birmingham, Mich.-based Inrecon, which generated sales of approx. $180 million and employed some 1,000 people in the year 2000, has given BELFOR a nationwide presence, as the Inrecon branch network in the Midwest and on the East Coast ideally complements BELFOR’s existing locations in the Rocky Mountains, on the West Coast and in Texas.
