SEEC Inc. Introduces Solution for industry

November 21, 2001

SEEC, Inc., a provider of business-to-business solutions for insurance and other industries, has introduced Axcess(TM) for Insurance, an agent self-service solution that allows a carrier’s agents to quote, underwrite and issue policies in real-time over the Web.

Bruce Cameron, senior vice president, worldwide sales and services for SEEC, commented that Axcess will help carriers achieve profitable premium growth by giving their producers the tools they need to win more business, such as real-time access to policy, claim and commission information, and automated policy quoting and issuance for non-commodity products. Cameron noted that this modular, Web-based solution provides a faster return on investment by tackling elements of agent self-service in manageable, cost-effective steps that leverage and reuse an insurance company’s existing systems.

Axcess for Insurance includes agent productivity tools, customizable application components for Web-based quoting, underwriting and issuance in specific lines of business, plus integration components that access current agency and carrier systems and third-party databases using ACORD(TM) XML and other industry standards.

The solution is built upon proven SEEC technologies that are already in use at leading insurance companies and other Fortune 1000 companies. Each component in the Axcess solution can be customized to suit a carrier’s existing infrastructure and business process using SEEC’s component development kit, SEEC Mosaic(TM) Studio.

Larry Dombrowski, director of insurance solutions at SEEC, noted that the company has worked closely with its insurance customers to understand their business needs and to define a solution that will help them win more business in their target markets.

Dombrowski added that Axcess is a customizable solution that improves agent productivity and loyalty and automates existing quoting and underwriting processes to reduce the carrier’s transaction and service costs.
