Sintech Software Discontinues Online Agency Management System

April 24, 2002

Sintech Software LLC, an application service provider (ASP) of web-based property and casualty and life and health agency management systems, has discontinued its online property and casualty agency management system, ProSpector.

“Sintech designed ProSpector to provide agencies with a near turn-key, cost-effective agency management system that was capable of providing real-time quotes and communication with their carriers and partners,” Stephen Sinclair, Sintech’s President and CEO, remarked. “However we chose to discontinue ProSpector because the infrastructure and general acceptance of an XML standard in the industry are unavailable and were pertinent components to providing ProSpector’s advanced features.”

Operating in Chicago, Sintech had an estimated client base of over 90 insurance users and commitments. Sintech was the first to enter the online agency management system market in 1999 and released its first version in June 2000.

The focus for Sintech Software is in e-services. “The company’s strengths lie in its ability to rapidly develop and deploy web-based solutions,” said Arjuna Ariathurai, senior managing partner for Sintech. “We had to make the difficult decision of discontinuing our flagship P&C product to preserve our e-services expansion strategy in the L&H segment of the insurance industry and financial services.”

Sintech will continue to lever its experience in e-services, integration services, and translation services to provide applications and integration for enterprises operating in the insurance and financial services industry.
