Zurich N.A. Names Controller/Regional Group Controller

Zurich has announced today that John Treacy, 42, will join its North America operations the week of July 25 as Senior Vice President – Corporate Controller/Regional Group Controller.

Treacy will report to Thomas Bradley, Chief Operating Officer – Finance and Chief Financial Officer for North America Commercial and to Louis Mannello, Group Controller at Zurich Financial Services. He will work in the company’s Schaumburg office and will be responsible for all financial accounting and reporting functions, including collections, reinsurance accounting, internal reporting, governance and accounting operations.

Treacy is currently Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller for St. Paul Travelers. His 16-year career at St. Paul Travelers included positions as corporate controller, financial reporting officer, director of reinsurance operations and manager of investment operations. He began his career with Ernst & Young.

Treacy holds a Business Administration degree with an emphasis in accounting from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a CPA and a member of AIA Finance Management Committee and Insurance Roundtable, AICPA and the Minnesota Society of CPAs.

“John brings to Zurich a solid background in financial reporting, accounting controls and governance, operations, project management and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley,” said Bradley. “He also is an organizational leader who has managed systems implementations, improvement initiatives and M&A integrations.

“I am also pleased to announce the creation of a new senior Finance position dedicated to financial planning and analysis,” Bradley added. “David Levinson, previously Corporate Controller for North America Commercial, will take on this new role as Senior Vice President – Finance. He will have responsibility for cost accounting, financial planning, financial analysis and rating agencies relations.”
