Venture Insurance Programs has appointed Maydelis Torres as a senior underwriter and territory manager for the Preferred Club Program’s Central, Northwest and Southwest regions. She will be responsible for growing and managing the program’s book of business in her regions.
Torres joins an expanded Preferred Club Program that has re-organized into regions to meet increased demand. The program’s Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions are led by Robert Mulhern, and the Southeast and South Central regions are led by Shelley Keenan.
“By reorganizing into three underwriting regions, our territory managers and their underwriters will be able to maintain closer relationships with brokers and agents, and respond more effectively to the increase in submissions and anticipated growth in the Preferred Club Program,” said Philip J. Harvey, president of Venture Insurance Programs.
Torres joins the Preferred Club Program with nearly 20 years of insurance experience with carriers, managing general agents and retail agencies, including as account executive for St. Paul Insurance Company. She also served as senior underwriter with ECS, Inc. (now XL Capital) and Crum & Forster Insurance Company. She earned a bachelor’s degree in management from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
