Nationwide Insurance received the top honor and The Hartford received seven Best of Show awards at the Insurance Marketing Communications Association (IMCA) 2006 Showcase Awards, held during the IMCA annual meeting on June 27 at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel in San Francisco.
Nationwide received the IMCA’s SAMMY Award for its entry, “Rocket Lunge,” in the Television Advertising category. The SAMMY is given for the overall Best of Show and is voted on by the attending IMCA members.
The competition – now in its 48th year – features entries in 35 categories including advertising, sales promotion, multi-medium campaigns, TV/radio, the Internet, employee communications, annual reports, e-commerce, community service and public relations – to name just a few.
“We had a record 370 entries for the 2006 Showcase Awards, and we were proud to recognize some of the very best marketing communication efforts in the insurance industry,” said Ron Rice, IMCA President. “We also were excited to have a world-class organization like Adobe Systems, Inc., present our ‘Your Best Design’ award.”
The Hartford led all companies with awards, receiving seven Best of Show honors, including the “Your Best Design” award for its Management Liability kit. This first-time award was presented by Adobe. Other multiple Best of Show winners included SAFECO Insurance with five awards and Allstate Insurance, AMS Services, Farmers Insurance and Foremost Insurance Group with two.
