R. L. Polk & Co., a provider of automotive information and marketing solutions to the automotive world, and ISO, a provider of risk-related products to the insurance industry, announced that Polk will now offer the ISO Liability Symbols product for use within its VIN Decoding products on behalf of its insurer, MGA, agent, and third-party rating vendor customers throughout the United States.
Based on a review of the actual loss experience of the vehicle make and model, the ISO Liability Symbols product assigns rating factors and rating symbols to vehicles to enable insurers and agents to better rate personal auto liability and personal injury protection (PIP/medical payments) coverages.
“The assignment of the correct vehicle symbol ratings will help Polk and ISO’s mutual customers — insurance companies, agents, MGAs, and third-party rating vendors — to further streamline the personal auto rating process,” said Arthur R. Cadorine, vice president of ISO’s Information Acquisition, Development, and Service Division.
