Suggest someone in the Federal government go back and look-up the difference between a “spending plan” and “insurance.” Whatever this pre-existing health plan is,it sure as heck isn’t insurance.

You nailed it. I don’t actually mind subsidizing health care for the truly sick and uninsurable – it is my obligation as a citizen of a civilized country. But don’t call it something it isn’t, like “insurance” or “more fair”.

Since NYS already accepts all comers (with an 11-month pre-existing condition exclusion) what is this Federal Plan doing in NYS? Will their plan now offer coverage for that 11 month NYS pre-existing condition elimination period? It is amazing to me that there’s been virtually no communication or training – an absolute information vacuum – to the agent/broker community and the public at large! Gov’t obfuscation at its best!

Dem’s will do anything to enslave the citizen and really take away their rights. This is nothing other than a back door approach to buy the votes necessary top return them to office in November.

You are screaming about your rights but forgetting about the right of our fellow citizens to secure affordable health insurance so they don’t find finalcial ruin in the face of unforeseen disease or illness. They may have dutifully paid their portion of employer health insurance for decades and now find themselves unemployed and unable to afford COBRA. or whatever scenario.

Don’t those people have rights, too?

I don’t think this bill was rammed down my throat at all. I support it as the best we can get at this time when the shrill minority labels this as “socialism” and reads dire abrogation of their “rights” I do not support the deals that had to be made to get it passed, but I will have to take the good (and there is much good for many people) with the bad for now.

Are you healthy? Are you prepared to lose the advantage in pricing you have? I live in a state that already had a pre-existing plan. A 35 yr old woman with cancer would pay $454 a month for a $1000 a year deductible plan, if she were in the best of health she could duplicate that plan for $156 a month. People keep saying that the wellness (preventive care) provisions will save money, but as long as adopting the wellness provisions is voluntary, they don’t really work. The studies are all written in the future tense.

What state do you live in? Euphoria? Only $156 a month for health insurance with a $1000 ded? Amazing.

Just another thing that Obama is mortgaging our future for political gain.

LOOK AT US, WE GAVE SICK PEOPLE HEALTH INSURANCE AND IF YOU MAKE WHAT THE AVERAGE DEMOCRAT MAKES, IT COST YOU NOTHING.

    PURE POLITICS!

To all of those in perfect health who have the luxury of being covered by a group or private health insurance plan: Can you please tell me where can I find a health plan for my 26 year old daughter with cancer who may not have insurance after October? Her employer, as many other employers in Florida, did not offer insurance. Many companies in my state claim that because of the economy they cannot afford to hire permanent full time staff. This is bull. The companies that my daughter has worked for have kept her and many others like her busy working 40 hours per week for months and years while claiming they cannot afford to hire them permanently. They hire new staff through temp agencies in order not to provide benefits. They are lying by claiming that business is bad but they have enough work to keep their temp staff working full time. My daughter has looked for a permanent position for almost two years and all she finds are employers offering the same temp status. Where can she go for medical help? Thankfully, I was finally able to add her to my group insurance plan until she turns 26 this October. If it wasn’t for health care reform, she would not have had any insurance at all. After October, I do not know what insurance company is going to accept her with a pre existing cancer condition. If by chance, an insurance company is found, I have been told that it would cost over $600 per month to insure her with a huge deductible and out of pocket costs. Well….we may be able to pay that as long as we leave our apartment and start to live out of our car. So, those who have insurance and are in good health, should keep their mouths SHUT and pray that they or their loved ones have a healthy and insured life.
