“The government had argued that …. and that high-ranking government officials in general should not be deposed over their official actions”

That right there is disgustingly authoritative and is reflective of the power hunger sentiment that is at the core of the corrupt bought and sold government we have today. I would argue that they should always be deposed over their “official” actions. And what happened to their argument that the FED is an independent entity not tied to the govt? Guess that is only when it is convenient.

It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall on this testimony to see how this came down. Bernanke and Geightner were in this up to their eyeballs. Has anyone gone to jail yet to be Bernie’s next door neighbor? Greenberg, the walking lawsuit is now 88. The government can continue playing 4 corners offense until he is dead from old age and nothing will change.
