Any comments about fracking causing earthquakes? About 6 months ago the BBC did an exhaustive story about fracking and reported only one known quake resulting from fracking and that was when the fracking occurred on a known fault line. They went on to report that the energy released from the “quake” was the equivalent of what one would experience walking down a city street when a city bus passes by.
Articles regarding probable links between fracking and earthquakes has come through OK and CO. Water related issues comes out of OH.
Because direct line proof is difficult it will be after considerable loss that the fracking link is commonly / legally recognized. Insurers should take this into consideration relative to coverage with claims made triggers and/or long reporting tails.
My impression is that to stay up with this issue one would need follow university studies rather than any governmental related entities because of the political considerations involved. In this case, seller (insurer) beware.
If the evidence was strong at all, the insurers and state DOIs would be all over it. In my state the Governor is from 1 party and the DOI Commissioner from another, and there’s been no disagreement about fracking between them.

I missed that story – I’ll have to check it out. I’ve wondered about fracking and earthquakes but hadn’t found much evidenced based information.

The evidence they are using is pretty shaky, but who’s fault is it? I think it is Rich Tear. His friend is Sue Nommie.
