I used to work for Healthcare Solutions Team and Assurant was our top carrier. When Obama signed the “we have to pass it so you can find out what’s in it” law into place, I saw the writing on the wall and got licensed in P&C and left healthcare all together and I have not regretted it once.
Always, back in the day, we were pretty active writing Individual and Group business when it was legitimate. When the Law of Unintended Consequences was passed and we also saw the handwriting on the wall, we stopped quoting because we didn’t like the E&O implications and it was such a hassle. We just refer people to Blue Cross website now and let them battle it out.
