Why didn’t you survey NBA players and see what they think too? I don’t think you understand what an economist does. An economist is not an expert on agriculture, they can not determine the scientific effects that climate change will have on farming and determine what the net loss will be for crop yield. But still, even if you surveyed the appropriate experts from each industry…what are you trying to prove with this survey? If you took only 2 minutes to research the effects of climate change on the economy, then you would have found a wealth of information explaining the negative effects that have already occurred and are still continuing to occur.
Please research your topics for at least 5 minutes before misinforming innocent readers in the future.
They surveyed professional economists who have been published in peer reviewed journals. This wasn’t some popularity contest, it was a survey of what people who study this for a living think. And the overwhelming majority, 89% of those surveyed, think that climate change will begin to negatively impact the global economy by 2050. 41% say that we’re already experiencing negative impacts.
With the ice cap in Antarctica expanding and more and more building going on in coastal and other environmentally sensitive areas including building in areas where sensitive temperature taking takes place, does anybody really know for sure what is really happening to the climate or whether economic changes are occurring due to the climate or because of where people are building? Just wondering?
Dave, perhaps they should have been asking “economists” what the negative impact was of Progressive Socialist policies in our government. What have they done to business? What have they done to our Healthcare? How many jobs have been lost and why do businesses not hire and expand? Those are the questions that should be asked of “economists”.
