As a previous UW at Hanover they need to focus on their old antiquated systems, they were terrible. It doesn’t matter how much business they bring in if they can’t service it and renew it promptly and accurately.
Strongly agree with this statement. I have contracted with them twice over the last 15 years on the IT/policy processing side. They have some fairly pretty systems facing the agents, but their back-end system was antiquated 20 years ago.
The Hanover, along with CNA, offers one of the best ratios of premium-to-coverage. Their Package rates are highly competitive, and their servicing is stellar. I find no fault with them at all, and other carriers could learn from them. They are one of our half-dozen preferred carriers who we always go to first when quoting. Their systems are progressive, and their renewal process works well. Their Underwriting and Claims are on-par, as well. They just hired a team from the Hartford, which has helped them.

Isn’t amazing how nothing really changes. These CEO’s think rearranging the deck chairs will really make a difference.
Every company has at one time or another made similar statements. Does anything really change?
