The Austin chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) has named Bill McLellan as Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Year. McLellan is the senior vice president of Texas Mutual Insurance Company’s information technology division.
“We are very pleased to see Bill get this award,” said Texas Mutual President Russ Oliver. “He’s been instrumental in a host of online developments we’ve made at Texas Mutual, and his leadership abilities are outstanding.”
McLellan joined Texas Mutual Insurance Company in 2003. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Texas. He retired as a major from the U.S. Army, with over 20 years of combined active and reserve duty.
The AITP will host its 7th annual Technology Executive of the Year awards ceremony at the Austin Convention Center on Nov. 3. The reception will begin at 4:30 p.m. after the conclusion of the InnoTech conference.
AITP is a national organization for information technology professionals offering leadership opportunities, professional development, and personal growth tips for its members.
