Stuart Dobbie has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Dallas-based Maclean, Oddy & Associates, the company announced. The appointment is effective Jan. 1, 2005.
He succeeds Roy B. Oddy, who has held the title of chairman and CEO since the formation of the company in 1983.
Dobbie was born and educated in England and began his insurance career with the Sedgwick Group, London, where he worked in the North American Division and was active in the Lloyd’s market during the 1970s.
In 1982 Dobbie relocated to Texas and worked for Swett & Crawford, Dallas, before joining Maclean, Oddy in 1983.
