IIA San Antonio Presents Additional Insured, GGL Course

Independent Insurance Agents of San Antonio will present a special seminar Feb. 23, 2005, on “The Additional Insured” and “CGL Policy: Critical Changes.”

The instructor for the two-part seminar is R. Bryan Tilden of Tilden and Associates, Pittsboro, N.C.

In Part 1, “The Additional Insured,” the following subjects will be explored and discussed: reasons for using additional insured endorsements; most common policy forms used; problems with using this approach to transfer risk and how policies fit together; additional insureds in policies other than CGL; and OCP versus additional insureds.

In Part 2, “CGL Policy: Critical Changes,” the specific study will include: impact of revised definitions of mobile equipment subject to motor vehicle statutory requirements as autos; need for electronic data liability coverage form; how new product withdrawal coverage form operates, along with new endorsement covering goodwill; new additional insured endorsements and how the definition of insured contract can be changed; why the pollution exclusion has been revised; and new endorsements that exclude exterior insulation and finish systems.

The seminar will be held at University of the Incarnate Word, Dr. Burton Grossman International Conference Center, at 847 E. Hildebrand in San Antonio.

Part 1 will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and Part 2 runs from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m.

The cost for IIASA members is $60 per person per session/$100 for both; for non-members the cost is $85 per person per session/$150 for both.

General CE credit for all license types will be given: Part #1 – 4 hours and Part #2 – 3.5 hours.
