Corpus Christi independent insurance agent and former Texas Windstorm Insurance Association chairman, Lloyd L. Grove Jr., passed away Jan. 24 at the age of 81.
Throughout his 50-year career Grove was actively involved in windstorm insurance issues and was the first insurance agent to be elected as chairman of TWIA. He also served on many committees for the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Texas.
Grove is survived by his wife of 51 years, Audrey; seven sons, Lloyd III, Mark, Larry, Bryan, Christopher, John, Andrew; a daughter, Mary Fischer; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held Jan. 28 at St. Andrew by the Sea Catholic Church. Grove was buried at Seaside Memorial Park.
