This type of legislation has been needed for a long time since jury awards have been off the charts in many jurisdictions. Plaintiffs lawyers won’t like it much since they have grown rich off these exhorbitant awards. This restores some sanity to these types of cases and makes underwriting malpractice a lot easier and more certain.

I would love for the previous “Proud Conservative” to show me an “off the chart” verdict here in Oklahoma. Since I have been practicing law for over 20 years, representing both those suing and those being sued, I have never seen such a case. Besides, does “Proud Conservative” know what a remittitur is? Ask a Judge about any crazy verdicts-see if there are more crazy verdicts for Defendants or Plaintiffs.
