Builder Agent Network Expands Program for Texas Construction Industry

February 1, 2012

Builder Agent Network has launched a product for home building and contractor markets in Texas.

The company, which functions as the managing general agency for Builders Insurance Group’s Texas products, will start offering umbrella/excess liability for this segment. The policy can provide coverage for subsidence and injury to a subcontractor’s employees, something that can be hard to find in the marketplace.

“We are committed to the Texas home builder and continue to be involved at the highest level to bring the best and most competitive products to Texas for the betterment of everyone involved in this industry, including the home buyer,” said Doug Hotchkiss, president, Hotchkiss Insurance Agency, LLC and Builder Agent Network.

Anne Sheahen, vice president of the Carrollton, Texas-based Builder Agent Network said that the program will be distributed through carefully selected agents specializing in construction.

“Our goal is to meet the needs of the building community by providing insurance to work alongside the best practices of risk management, as taught by the Texas Association of Builders,” Sheahen said.

Builder Agent Network is the managing general agent for selected carriers offering insurance products to preferred agents specializing in the insurance needs of Texas residential and commercial builders.

The Atlanta-based Builders Insurance Group is rated A- by A.M. Best and offers workers’ compensation, general liability and property insurance through independent agents throughout the Southeastern, Mid-Atlantic and Midwestern United States.
