I am still not sure why insurance investigators are charged with law enforcement activities on typical white collar crimes. It seems to me that Police, Sheriffs, Constables would be better to use on crimes.

Seems to me that they are doing what is appropriate here. In a state that tends to be fairly well armed I would suspect that there is a pretty decent chance that investigators lives are at risk. Why does any investigator get armed if all they deal with are small fish who really are only going to make the investigator uncomfortable if they get stabbed or shot. That seems like overkill. Rather we should just think nice thoughts and hope that fraudulent actors don’t get armed up. White collar crimes are often linked to non-white collar crimes because they tend to be the easiest to detect compared to other illicit operations.

Foreseeable risk. What’s the problem with reasonable mitigation?
