State Farm Lloyds? Never heard of that one.

Is it a JV? Or someone trying to sound better than they are; like Lloyds of Lubbock?

A Lloyds company is a type of insurance company in Texas. They are very common here…

There is Allstate Texas Lloyds, Travelers Lloyds of Texas, Safeco Lloyds, ASI Lloyds, etc. More national insurance carrier has a Lloyds underwriting company for some Texas business.

Many carriers used Lloyds facilities to write Home and Dwelling policies since they are unregulated by the State and can charge about whatever they want for coverage. They also fought this ruling for a long time when other companies complied with TDI requests. They are as sorry as can be.

Lloyd companies are no longer unregulated in Texas. They have the same file and use regulations as any other type or insurer, which is why most companies aren’t using their Lloyd companies for new business anymore…
