if people choose to ride with Uber, because there are so many positives about it, over a taxi, that’s their decision! they assume the responsibility for choosing Uber over a taxi. I did Uber here in San Antonio for 6 months before our stupid city council & mayor ended it here. I gave a ride to a city prosecutor about 3 months ago & he told me San Antonio ranks #1 in the nation for DUI’s! Wow! was all I could say!he said he told city council they would be crazy to let Uber leave our city. well, we know what happened with that. I guess the payoff from the taxi lobbyists was more important than protecting innocent people from drunk drivers! how pathetic! 100% of my riders told me they would much rather ride with Uber than have to ride in a taxi! all of them told me they never wanted to have to ride in a taxi, ever again! it’s free enterprise, the government has no place in telling people they can’t ride with Uber. it’s their choice! I would ride with Uber over a taxi 7 out of 7 days!

fact is they are screwing the drivers by off setting blame and regulations on the contractor’s. If you drive for uber you had better have full coverage commercial insurance not just full coverage. If you don’t and something happens neither insurance will pay for any part of the wreck or medical bills associated. they are also under indictment for subprime lending on their uber car financing. and so many people are pissed that they have to drive to pay their car note then uber drops the pay rates on them knowing they have them locked in and they have no choice but to keep driving.

Uber should be glad to have their drivers fingerprinted. It would identify sex offenders and others with felony convictions, and keep them from driving for uber. There are some drivers from a carribean country, that got a drivers liscense in Puerto Rico under someone elses name. They then come to the us and get a state drivers liscense in that name, they have been arrested for selling drugs and welfare fraud.YOU NEED MORE THAN A DRIVERS LISCENSE TO IDENTIFY SOMEONE. A California man was driving for UBER and was a convicted murderer and was in prison for 25 years!
