    maybe I am mean spirited, but spending $464,423 per household seems a little extravagant. I suspect the local housing costs don’t average that high for a typical residence.
    this is government run amuck – again, repeatedly, and continuously.

      I agree with you. Why not move these people to nearby towns that are more inland? You could build them houses cheaper than $464,423 each. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to try to flood proof houses that are that prone to flooding.
