Georgia Insurance Commissioner John W. Oxendine announced that the Consumer Services Division of the Georgia Department of Insurance helped tens of thousands of Georgia consumers settle insurance company disputes in 2002, resulting in the return of some $18.7 million in insurance claims to those consumers.
“Representatives in our Consumer Services Division helped customers and businesses retrieve $18,772,432,” Oxendine said. “Many of these involved claim disputes with insurance companies where our investigators were able to secure a settlement favorable to the consumer.”
