WellPoint Inc. has expanded its central region to include the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana and has named Keith Faller to lead the region as president and CEO.
Earlier this month, Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc. (NYSE: ATH) and WellPoint Health Networks Inc. (NYSE: WLP) completed a $16.5 billion merger that created WellPoint Inc.
Faller previously served as president of Anthem’s Midwest region.
“Keith Faller brings a wealth of knowledge from his deep roots in our company and our industry,” Wellpoint CEO Larry Glasscock said in a news release. “Through his focus on service improvement, the Anthem plans in the Midwest have grown substantially under his leadership.”
WellPoint also said its central region now includes Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri, HealthLink, UniCare and the Federal Employee Program.
