Beecher Carlson, Colemont Form ‘Strategic Relationship’

December 13, 2005

A strategic relationship has been entered into between Beecher Carlson, an Atlanta-based brokerage and risk management consulting company, and Colemont Insurance Brokers, a wholesale specialty insurance broker with headquarters in Dallas.

Steve Denton, Beecher Carlson’s executive managing director, said the relationship expands Beecher Carlson’s product recall and contamination risks solutions experience and portfolio.

Beecher Carlson will represent Colemont’s RecallReady facility to its clients and leverage their expertise in accessing the recall marketplace.

Both firms have expertise in the specialty areas of product recall and related crisis management. They will combine their in-house facilities and open market placements. Colemonts’s RecallReady facility is targeting U.S. based mid-size manufacturers and distributors with maximum annual sales of $500,000,000, offering a unique product blending insurance with crisis management and preparedness expertise.

“Despite an ever increasing number of incidents, product recall insurance is an often overlooked coverage that can be vital in protecting and assisting companies should their products be found to endanger the public,” Bernie Steves, senior vice president at Colemont Insurance Brokers said.

Colemont was founded in 1992 and has 400 employees in 15 offices. Beecher Carlson has been a privately held company since 1981, and maintains operations in Bermuda; Boston; Irvine, Los Angeles, Walnut Creek and Woodland Hills, Calif.; Denver; Honolulu; Portland and Medford, Oregon; Minnesota, N.Y.; Nashville; Tampa, Fla.; and Burlington, Vt.
