Main Street America Group Promotes Anderson, Petrell

February 13, 2006

Bill Anderson has been promoted to senior vice president of insurance operations and Sharon Petrell, assistant vice president of marketing and integrated solutions of the Main Street America Group in Jacksonville, Fla.

Anderson, who has been vice president of marketing and integrated solutions, replaces Bob Restrepo, who resigned last week to become chairman and chief executive officer of State Auto Financial Corp.

Anderson will oversee Main Street America’s commercial lines, personal lines, marketing and integrated solutions, information technology, and information systems and services units.

Anderson joined Main Street America in 1997 as director of corporate marketing. From 1998 to 2004, he served as vice president and regional director of its New England Region. In August 2004, he was named vice president, marketing and integrated solutions, with responsibility for the company’s marketplace planning, agency desktop solutions, agency management and business development.

Anderson previously spent 16 years at Allstate Insurance Company, where he held a variety of management positions, including policy processing division manager, data center manager, information technology consultant, senior project manager and senior sales manager.

In her new position, Petrell will assume responsibility for Main Street America’s personal lines and commercial lines product marketing, agency automation, marketing administration and strategic project management.

For the past few years, Petrell has been a key member of Main Street America’s product marketing teams. Last August, she was appointed director of personal lines marketing. In this role, she was responsible for identifying and cultivating new opportunities for personal lines production and profit through the research and promotion/marketing of new products, services and systems.

Petrell joined Main Street America in 1995 as supervisor of our workers’ compensation and property claims units. From 1997-98, she served as regional automation manager, responsible for developing and implementing regional marketing strategy for MSA @ the Desktop (automation solutions for the company’s independent agent-customers).

In 1998, Petrell became regional personal lines underwriting manager for the company’s Syracuse Region and in 2001 joined its marketing team as territory manager for Western New York. In 2003, she was appointed director of operations in personal lines, responsible for the product lines’ operating efficiency as well as design, implementation and maintenance of products, tools, processes and services.

Before joining Main Street America, Petrell was with CIGNA Companies for seven years, in claims and account management positions.
